LaNelle Wells Lindsey's Obituary
LaNelle Wells Lindsey, 94, entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1930 in Wayne County, Mississippi, and was the youngest of Will and Launa Wells’s ten children.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mississippi in 1952, and a Medical Technology degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She met her husband, Paul, while working at a hospital blood bank when he came in to give blood. They married and moved to Memphis where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives. LaNelle worked in the pediatric office of Dr. Shed H. Caffey and later in a laboratory at The Med.
The Lindseys were long-time members of Colonial Park United Methodist Church where LaNelle taught 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School for many years. She was also an active member of United Methodist Women. She was a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout leader. She had played basketball on gravel courts in her younger days and loved to watch the Memphis Grizzlies play.
LaNelle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Paul Lindsey, and a dear grandson, Joseph Rychlak. She leaves behind her children, Claire (Ron) Rychlak of Oxford, Mississippi; David (Dawn) Lindsey of Bartlett, Tennessee; Bill Lindsey of Memphis, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family invites friends to gather Saturday March 15, 2015 at 9:00am for visitation with a service at 10:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery Memphis, TN
