Lane Purser's Obituary
"GOOOOOD Morning Runners!” can be heard at the beginning of each race similar to the iconic character in Good Morning Vietnam portrayed by Robin Williams. Lane Purser, commonly known as “the Voice” of Memphis Runners Track Club passed away on New Year’s Day, 01/01/2021. At the age of 77, Lane is survived by his daughter, Kimberlee, son-in-law, Matt, and his brother, Lynn. He was also known as Dadad to his two grandsons, Mason and Grayson. He was a proud owner of two dogs, Mo and Babs. He was self-employed working with many of Memphis's interior decorators. He had many passions in his life that included: running, biking, golfing, flying, caving, climbing, cars, and his family, especially his two grandchildren. He was an avid volunteer at the St. Jude's Marathon's half marathon/marathon split point. He was a mentor to runners and cyclists alike. He was a great friend to all. There will be a visitation held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 01/08/2021, at Memorial Park with a service to be planned in the spring or summer.
