L. C. Kirk's Obituary
L.C. Kirk, 88 of Barton, MS passed away February 5, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Memphis. He was the son of Linsey and Cecil Kirk. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joann Kirk; son, Dana (Melanie) Kirk; daughter Gayle Kirk; three granddaughters, Brittany Kirk, Lyndsey Drotar, Terra (Brennan) Vinet; six great grandchildren, Isabella Chester, Hadlee Chester, Slayden Vinet, Payton Vinet, Tinsley Vinet and Kherington Vinet. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mabel Kirk, Noner Mae Qualls, Helen Gatlin, Mayberine Bailey and Cloy Kirk. L.C. was a veteran of the U.S. Army Engineers in the Korean War. For many years he was self employed. He worked for White Stone Co. as production manager for several years. In the 1970’s he was an elected official as a Marshall County Justice Court Judge. He retired from Dana Corp. in Olive Branch, MS. L.C. was a Christian and served as an associate pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, and teacher of the High School student class at Watson Community Chapel Church. He was loved dearly by his wife and family and will be missed deeply by all. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8 from 5-8 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
