Kyle Scott Fought's Obituary
Kyle Scott Fought
Arrived on earth February 10, 2000; was welcomed in heaven January 17, 2021.
Beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and friend.
Kyle’s life started in Fullerton, CA, where his lively character and charm began to emerge. He spent a short period of his younger childhood in Reno, NV, where that charm and abundance of energy lead him on a number of adventures (and trips to the ER). He, with his family, returned to Southern California before he began kindergarten. He graduated high school ahead of schedule in 2017. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Memphis, TN.
Kyle’s entire, though short, life was always high energy, with an intense love of his family. He had a great sense of humor, when he felt comfortable enough with you to share his dark and comical side. He could be mischievous, and enjoyed bringing others into his shenanigans. He was incredibly giving and kindhearted. He was protective over those he felt needed protection. He could be simultaneously fierce and quite, loud and laidback.
Kyle was diagnosed Bipolar at age 13. He would go through periods of struggling to stay on his medication. As he grew older, this would lead to times of self-medicating. With a family history of addiction, this was a recipe for disaster. The addiction he used to try to “feel normal” is what was ultimately the cause of his life to be so short.
Kyle is survived by his his Father: David Fought, Mother: Christina Martinez, Padre: Julio Martinez, Siblings: Laura, Melissa, Makenzie, Jr., Yajaira, Melody, and Jennine, Grandparents: Stephen & Esther Thomas and John & Cyndi Cairns, and his one and only niece Margaret, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 12 from 1:30 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The inurnment will immediately follow. A full obituary will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
