Kim Lauren Fairey's Obituary
Kim, age 54, passed away unexpectantly Thursday evening, October 26, 2023, after an extended hospitalization. She was being rehabilitated at Signature in Bartlett, TN.
Kim was born August 7, 1969, at Methodist Hospital in downtown Memphis, TN. She leaves behind her parents, Judy G. (Fairey) Brown, mother, and father, (Arthur) Reeves Fairey III, both of Memphis, TN. Others include Richard A. Smith, Judy’s companion, and Debra Fairey, wife of Reeves. Reeves and Debra have two children, Ashley (Jonathan) and David (Christina) who each have four children, all eight of whom Kim was very proud. Kim’s cousin and roommate, Tami Webb, had become her good friend and caregiver. Kim was very appreciative as was I for all the help she provided during Kim’s health struggle. Tami has three children: Leslie, Ashley, and Hunter, of whom we love and are very proud. Kim was very close to her aunt and uncle, Susan and Laurence Fairey and their children, Casey (Sammy) and Chris (Anne) and their beautiful children. Kim graduated from Wooddale High School, class of 1987. She will be missed by her friends from school as they have been very close all these years after graduation. To name a few: Penny, Marnie, Cherise, and Dawn and their spouses and children. If a name was left out, forgive me. (Mother Judy) Most special of all to Kim were her grandparents: Mary L. (Meme) and William E. Guess (Papa) and especially Jean Y. (Gaga) {Kim’s first words} and Art (Pop) Fairey. They predeceased Kim. (I’m sure Kim is with them now.) Kim has been employed by Costco (North) for 20 years as a Sales Auditor. She leaves behind many friends she loved, worked and played with during her career. Kim was loved by many. She loved purses (like me) and was very particular in her dress and manners. She was honorable to her parents and true to her friends. Kim could be very funny and clever with her words when one would least expect. A memorial service to honor our precious Kim’s life will be at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN at 1:00 pm., Thursday, November 9, 2023. The visitation will begin at noon.
