Kerry Sweeney's Obituary
Kerry Sweeney, 56, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Monday April 3, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1966 in Memphis, Tennessee. To many, Kerry Sweeney was Coach Kerry. For years he was involved in the Memphis Tigers Baseball and Memphis Baseball Academy organizations. Through his time as a coach, he was able to make a huge impact on the lives of hundreds of boys and young men. He will be missed as mentor and coach, but his ideals, spirit, and love of baseball will live on through all the boys and young men that knew him as Coach Kerry. When he wasn’t coaching baseball, he enjoyed spending time at Sardis Lake with his family and dogs. He enjoyed nothing more than the silence of an early morning watching the water, riding ATVs for hours with his family, teaching his dog, Soña, how to be a lake dog, or simply being able to watch tv out on his deck with his wife as the sun set. His wife and his two daughters were his entire world.
He is survived by his Wife, Lisa Sweeney; his two daughters, Kelsey Sweeney (Chase Mareno) and Kenzie Sweeney; his mother, Brenda Gray (Dewey); his siblings, Brian Kay, Chris Sweeney (Cherelle), Tammy Moore (Eddie); his in-laws, Henry and Faye Allison; his brother-in-law, Sammy Allison (Layla); nieces and nephews, Davin Allison, Dawson Allison, Hunter Allison, Dylan Kay, Chance Kay, Ty Sweeney (Currie), Darby Moore (Kyle), Kelley Fowler (Tyler), Kody Moore, and Kori Moore; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Bobby and Pauline Spencer and Ben and Ruby Sweeney.
