Kenneth Stepherson's Obituary
Kenneth R. Stepherson passed away in his sleep Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was 96 years old. Kenneth was born in Capleville, TN on April 7, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, flying “the Hump” from India to China, supplying Chiang Kai-shek’s forces against Japan. After the war, Kenneth and two brothers, Wesley and Jack, started the local grocery business known today as Stepherson’s Superlo Foods. It is still run by his family. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Billie Stepherson. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jill Stepherson, five children, Judy Reed (Bob), Randy Stepherson (Marti), Beth Berry (Brent), Susan Cox (Chip), Jack Stepherson (Monique), 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Kenneth is also survived by Jill’s family of 3 children, Bonnie McAdams (Dan), John Simmons (Sherrye), and Steve Simmons (Tina), 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30 from 5 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be at 1 pm Thursday, August 31, preceded by an hour of visitation.
