Kenneth Gerald Miller's Obituary
Kenneth Gerald Miller, age 66, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.A celebration of his life will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm.Kenneth was born on February 2nd 1953 to Kelly Gerald Miller and Bonnie Sue McGrew. He graduated from Fairley High School in 1971 where he was awarded “Best Free Throw” for the Fairley High Basketball team. He married Wendy Murrell on December 28, 1974 and together they raised four children, Drew, Grant, Sarah, and Benjamin.Kenneth was a man of integrity and high moral character, and he supported and inspired all those who knew and loved him to pursue and to live up to their own potential. Kenneth moved through this world with an intellectual curiosity, a deep sense of contemplation, and an uncanny ability to find joy in the complexity and beauty in both the simple and profound. He was an avid reader and pursuer of knowledge, a self-taught musician, and held a gift for connecting to those around him through, conversation, music, and a keen wit and sense of humor. He believed that “anything worth doing was worth doing right,” and he exemplified this in his words and actions, in his relationships and his convictions, throughout the entirety of his life.Kenneth is survived by Wendy Miller, Drew (Emily) Miller, Grant (AnnMarie) Miller, Benjamin (Amanda) Miller and his daughter Sarah (Clay) Butts; grandchildren, Sadie Parker, Ruby, Olivia, Charlotte, Evangeline, Maxwell Miller, Camille and Jude Butts; sister, Nancy (Harvey) and brother, Kelly Miller (Ben).
