Kenneth Dean Franklin's Obituary
Kenneth D. Franklin, 78, of Memphis, TN, passed away on March 24, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Kenny was born on October 10, 1944, in Memphis, TN, to Kenneth Driver Franklin and Frances Burt Saliba. He graduated from Bartlett High School, attended the University of Tennessee, and graduated from Memphis State University. Kenny began his career with Holiday Inn Corporation and spent 40 years in the banking industry.
Kenny is survived by his children: Meredith Jamieson (Hugh), Dean Franklin (Dylan), and Fowler Sutton (Drew). His greatest joy was being "Poppy" to his nine grandchildren~ McKenzie, Avery, Lucy Rose, Joyner, Lane, Murphy, McBride, Clark, and Luke, and he was anticipating the arrival of his first great-grandchild, Miles.
He leaves his brother Steve Franklin (Beth), Joe Saliba Jr. (Valli), JoLynn Voss (Peter), Jonet Franklin, Lynn Newstreet, and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Driver Franklin and Frances Saliba, sister Carla Kay Franklin and his wife of 39 years, Mimi Eisenbeis Franklin.
Kenny was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. He was an avid gardener, loved supporting the Memphis Tiger Football team, and vacationing with family. We will remember Kenny for his excellent sense of humor, and we loved him for his way with words.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 10am-11am, with services to follow in the Chapel at Second Presbyterian Church 4055 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38111.
