Kenneth Bryant's Obituary
Kenneth Cleveland BRYANT. Born December 1, 1930 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Died June 22, 2013. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie R. Bryant of Ripley, MS; son, Kenneth M. Bryant (Graham) and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Bryant, Kenneth Mark Bryant, Jr. and Alexander Hoffman Bryant, all of Nashville, TN; pre-deceased by son, Steven Scott Bryant; sister, Louise Becton (Bill) of Dyer, Tennessee, and sister, Jean Johannsen (Marvin) and parents, Grover and Esther Bryant. Mr. Bryant graduated from Dyer High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, returning to his home in Dyer, Gibson County, TN. He worked with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company until 1960 when he opened one of the first Goodyear franchises under the name of Bryant Tire & Appliance, Inc. on Summer Road. Eventually, Mr. Bryant operated four Memphis-based Goodyear locations serving Memphis, Raleigh, Bartlett, and Whitehaven. A visitation will be held at Memphis Memorial Park at 1 p.m on Tuesday, June 25; funeral services at 3 p.m. at Memphis Memorial Park.
