Kenneth Edward Beilstein's Obituary
Kenneth Edward Beilstein, age 90, of Germantown, Tenn. passed away August 3 at the Kirby Pines Retirement Community in Memphis. Born July 19, 1922 in Worthington (Yellow Dog) Pa., Ken was the second child of Edward and Catherine Pfaff Beilstein. In 1943 Ken married Marjorie Perrine. Together they established their home and family in Greenville, Pa. Ken worked 40 years for the Chicago Bridge and Iron Co. in Greenville, Pa, where he advanced to become foreman of the machine shop and subsequently transferred to Memphis Tenn. Ken was an exceptional man, noble in character, and guided in life by the principles of his Christian faith. With industry and excellence, he utilized his exceptional and creative skills in various trades. He was devoted to his wife “Peggy” and his 7 children and found his life’s satisfaction in his home, family, and work. He was an active and charter member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, and a member of the New Castle, Pa. District Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. and Catherine V. Beilstein; sisters, Mary Kinder and Edith M. Beilstein; sons, Karl R. and Larry D. Beilstein; and grandson Bobby Beilstein. Survivors include Marjorie E. Beilstein, his wife of 69 years; brothers, Richard E. and Clair E. Beilstein, both of Greenville, Pa.; sons, Kenneth E. Beilstein, Jr. of Essex Junction, Vt., James H. Beilstein of Maryville, Tenn., Donald R. Beilstein of Nesbit, Miss., and Fred L. Beilstein of Bartlett, Tenn.; daughters, Karyl Sue Claxton of Suwanee, Ga., and Mary Lou Roth of Oakland, Tenn., and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6865 Old Poplar Pike, Memphis, TN 38119 with Reverend Dr. William E. White officiating.
