Kay Frances Roote Seek's Obituary
KAY FRANCES ROOTE SEEK, 64, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2014 after a battle with renal cell cancer. She was born on April 5, 1949 and was adopted by her wonderful, loving parents Jesse and Frances Roote. Kay grew up in Memphis, TN and was a graduate of Kingsbury High School class of 1968. She also graduated from Miller-Hawkins Business College in 1970. She met her husband Greg Seek at First United Lutheran’s dance when she was 16 and three years later married at Berclair Baptist Church in June of 1969. They were married for 44 wonderful years. She was a medical assistant for many years at Baptist Memorial Hospital Medical Plaza working for wonderful doctors such as Dr. Goldberg, Dr. McBurney, Dr. Mroz, and Dr. Hunter. She enjoyed crafts, card making, stamping, and writing poetry. She was under the excellent care of the staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital and Hospice and Dr. John Norwood. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Frances Roote and half-brother Robert Page. Her survivors include her husband Greg Seek, her son Jason Seek and his wife Jamie, her daughter Holly Smith and her husband Tripp, two grandchildren Walt and Tate Smith, and her half-brother Mickey Gates and wife Terry. Kay’s warmth, kindness and love will live on in all of the lives she touched. Visitation will be at Memorial Park on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 1pm to 2:30 pm with the service immediately following at 2:30 pm.
