Kathryn Brugge's Obituary
Lorraine Brugge was taken to be with her Lord, Nov 23, 2014. She died in her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Feb 16, 1930 in Edgar Springs, Mo, to Paul and Ora Heavin. In 1951 she married Vernon L. Brugge of Memphis. They were married sixty-three happy years. She leaves behind her husband as well as two children, Arden Korn (Jim) of Columbia SC, and David Brugge (Miki) of Memphis. Also a grandson, Matthew Korn (Kim) of Maplewood, New Jersey, and their daughters, Chloe and Neko, and three granddaughters, Allison Korn of Baltimore, Md, Elizabeth Neilson (William) of Washington, DC, and Anna Brugge of New York, NY. Lorraine served the community as an RN for many years, but her passion was gardening. She was active in the Tennessee Master Gardeners Association. She was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Ave, Nov 25, from noon until 2:00, at which time there will be a memorial service, also at Christ The King. She will be buried at Big Baron Baptist Church Cemetery, on her family’s farm near Van Buren, Mo. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
