Kathleen S. Moore's Obituary
Kathleen S. Moore of Sarasota, FL, 95, died November 11, 2018. She was born April 9, 1923 in New Orleans to Palmer and Gertrude (Ford) Smith. Kathleen graduated from Louise McGeehee School for Girls and attended Ward- Belmont College and Sophie Newcomb (Tulane University) where she studied art. She is survived by her children, Leigh O’Rourke, Kathleen C. Moore and Ruth Morris (Graham), grandchildren, Brett Brenninkmeijer (Thomas), Megan Hurdle (Jason), Cannon Morris (Christina), Shea Quraishi (George) and ten great- grandchildren. Kathleen is also survived by her sister, Janice Albertine. Her brother, Al Smith, preceded her in death. Kathleen was a gifted painter, sculptor and tile artist as well as a beloved mother and grandmother. She will be missed. The family requests memorials be sent to Habitat for Humanity or Church Health Center. Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, November 15, from 5-7:30 pm with graveside services Friday, 11:00 am. at Memorial Park Cemetery.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
