Kathleen Wade Callahan's Obituary
Kathleen Wade Callahan, Age 90, passed away quietly at home after a long illness. The daughter of Agnes and Lawarence Wade, who proceeded her in death, was born and raised in Memphis, TN attending grade school at St. Anne Highland Catholic School and was a proud graduate of St Agnes Academy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Robert Callahan, Jr and her son, Michael Anthony Callahan. She raised her family throughout the Southeast following her husband in his automotive career.
In all her locations, she shared her Catholic faith by teaching and leading many religious education programs including at the Church of the Holy Spirit where she has been a communicate for the last thirty years. A special thanks to Father Matthew Panackachira for his support during her long illness along with Avis, Sonja, Nikki and Janice who cared for her over the last several years. Walking to Saturday evening mass at Church of the Holy Spirit from Grandmama and Granddaddy’s house followed by hamburgers was a long-standing family tradition that will be fondly remembered by the 3 generations of surviving family.
She leaves her children William III (Joy), Lawrence (Cathy), Kevin (Pam), Maureen Callahan, Kathleen Owen (Tim) and daughter-in-law Peggy. In addition, she leaves thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two sisters, Jane Quesnel and Mary Davis and two sister in laws, Connie Callahan Balton and Ellen Callahan Meyer (Dennis).
A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with visitation at 10:00am followed by a mass at 11:00a m.
