Katherine McCoy's Obituary
Katherine Clay McCoy, sadly passed away on December 10, 2024 at the age of 87. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was born September 2, 1937 to William and Annie Clay in Oxford, Mississippi. She graduated from Humes High School in Memphis, Tennessee. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the Bellevue Baptist Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James L. McCoy; her sisters, Betty Meadows and Fay Benedetto; brother William Clay; and Half-Siblings, James Clay, Velma Hammers, Clyde Clay, Roy Clay, Ruth Lavecchia and Zettie Salemi. She is survived by sons, Steve McCoy (Terri) and Mark McCoy (Cathy); grandchildren Kelsey McCoy, Michael McCoy and Lindsey McCoy Gordon; great-grandchildren Audrey and Grace Gordon.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 12:30 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Tennessee Chapter or to a charity close to your heart.
