Karleen Nation's Obituary
Karleen M. Nation went to be with her Lord in the evening of Saturday, August 22nd, while peacefully resting at her home in Germantown, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Bettye Baer and is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and her sister, Cheryl D. Baer. Married to William Nation for a loving and supportive 43 years; Karleen cherished her children Amber Martin (Craig) and Billy Nation as well as her grandchildren, Ava and Cash Martin. Karleen and Bill met at the University of Oklahoma and were married before their graduation. The couple made a home in 7 different locations during Bill’s career; upon retirement they returned to their family of close friends at Germantown United Methodist Church. Whether it was moving with her parents or with Bill and their family Karleen made lifelong friends in every location. She kept in touch with them year round bringing aid, assistance, solace and love. During her life she enjoyed being a part of many organizations, especially the Oklahoma University Alumni Clubs currently serving as co-chair of the OU Club of Memphis & Mid-South. Karleen loved the Germantown United Methodist Church Circles, Methodist MIssions, and the United Methodist Womens’ group as well as many school organizations and social clubs. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 28th, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. A memorial service will be held at GUMC, 2331 S. Germantown Rd., Germantown, TN at 11:00 am Saturday, August 29th followed by Internment at Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
