I will miss you my friend.
My sincerest sympathy to all who knew Karen, what a tremendous loss. I will always remember Karen as a true professional in all she did during her career with the Airline industry and afterward when seeing her at some socials in the Memphis area. She was an Icon of bravery and notoriety after the Southern Airways hijacking she was working as a flight attendant.., that incident didn’t bring her down in her personality, wit, and professionalism ever. Karen was definitely a role model of all togetherness! Rest In Peace Karen??
When I read Karen had passed, I was shocked and saddened!! Such a beautiful light put out too soon. I’ll miss her sweet words and advice. Sending prayers of comfort and love to her family. Karen will be missed
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Karen’s passing. She and I were friends as children and graduated together in 1965. She became a flight attendant and I became an agent. Our paths didn’t cross again until the merger of our airlines and it was just like old times. She was always so witty. When we were planning our 50th high school reunion, she gave me a lot of advice and helped me get things going. Unfortunately, Karen didn’t get to come to the reunion. Every time we ran into each other at the airport, we enjoyed reminiscing about old times. Everyone will miss you my friend. My prayers for all of the ones you left behind. Rest in peace dear lady.
I will miss her quick wit and funny stories. She was special, and I was lucky to have her for a friend. Karen, let us share another jump seat when I join you one of these days. With love and sadness.
It is such a shock to hear that Karen Ellis has passed away. She was such an outstanding person, always smiling and cheerful when I would see her at work as a Flight Attendant and other places. Karen stood out not only acquiring fame and recognition from the hi jacking of Southern Airlines but because of the great professional person she was in representing her job.
RIP Karen we all loved you??
Dear Family and Friends, Like so many of us this has been such a shock to all of us. Who knew that living so close to each other in different cities in Ark. during our high school years that we would finally meet at Southern. Everyone has echoed my same feelings, so I will sum it up with a quote I once saw. God never loved me in such a sweet way till he brought thee to me and said “Behold a friend”. You were that and more to so many!
So hard to believe when I heard the news. What a total shock. From the first day she started with Southern she because a favorite of everyone. She will be truly missed by all her friends. Prayers for all her family.
Heaven gained a truly funny and witty angel. I will miss your funny post.
I can’t believe I’m the first Sou pilot to post my grief over your passing. I learned about you, at the time of the hijacking, and you became “bigger than life”, with your heroism. On our first flight together, imagine my surprise to find a petite, young lady who seemed not to have a care in the world. I learned much more about you as years went on, and even picked up some valuable writing tips from you. I just can’t believe you’re gone.
