Karen Sue Doherty's Obituary
Karen Sue Doherty entered the Gates of Heaven on April 13th, 2023. She was born on September 22nd, 1959 to James Bernarr and Mary Sue Joslin. She graduated from Wooddale High School in 1977, and she spent her professional years as an executive assistant at Boyle Investment Company and various legal firms. She devoted her life to her home and family. Her caring and generous spirit was palpable to all of her loved ones. She was a proud lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. Karen was an avid animal lover and extremely creative in design, gardening, and baking. She was also a brilliant and talented artist whose oil paintings and sculptures adorned the homes of her family.
Karen will be missed immensely by her family: husband, John Bishop Doherty, Jr.; daughter, Joslin O’Guinn (Jason); son, Denny Baker; stepson, Paul Doherty; stepdaughter, Lindsay Doherty; and four grandchildren – Grant Robison, Dilyn Kim Doherty, Jackson O’Guinn, and Henry O’Guinn. She also leaves behind a sister, Jamie Strong (David); brother, Darrell Joslin (Janice); three nieces – Shelby Sain (Chase), Jordan Jones (Cody), and Jessica Joslin; nephew, Derrick Joslin; great nephew, Sutton Sain; her brother, David Hager; and her biological father, Wayne Hager and a host of loving friends. She was adored by her family and cherished by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Parkside Event Center at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin an hour prior starting at 1:00pm.
