June Rolando Phillips' Obituary
June Rolando Phillips, 85, passed away April 29, 2010. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 7 and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8 both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. June was the daughter of John Rolando and Argie Williams Rolando of St. Louis, MO where she was born in October 1924. She received her degree from Harris Junior College in St. Louis, Missouri before coming to Memphis. June was the former president of the Brooks Museum League, University Wives of the University of Memphis, Princeton Park Garden Club, and Memphis Jaycettes. She was currently a member of the Beethoven Club of Memphis and the Memphis Gavel Club and an active member of Mullins United Methodist Church and the Lamplighter/Friendship Class. She is survived by husband, William S. Phillips and son, Daniel B. Phillips; as well as daughter-in-law, Jeanne Plaisance; step-granddaughter, Marie Kimball; brother, John Williams Rolando, Sr.; nephew, John W. Rolando, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, and niece Judy Richardson of St. Louis, MO.
