Judy Carol Martin Bekavac's Obituary
Judy Carol (Martin) Bekavac, 79, of Memphis, TN passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, and was born February 27, 1942, in Ennis, TX. She is a member of Macon Road Baptist Church.
Judy was preceded in death by husband, Emil Bekavac, her mother, Elsie (Sledge) Ross, father, Johnnie W. Martin, Sr., stepfather Malcolm Ross, son John Matthew Pirtle, three brothers Johnnie W. Martin, Jr., Jimmie L. Martin, and Michael D. Ross.
She leaves behind son Joey Jernigan of Williford, AR, grandson Hayden Jernigan of Clinton, MS, granddaughters Bayleigh Jernigan of Nowata, OK and Sasha Rain of CA, three great-grandchildren, sister Deana Ross Goad (Fred) of Brentwood, TN and brother Stephen E. Ross (Faye) of Cherokee Village, AR and many nephews and nieces. Judy also leaves behind long-time friends and employees Quita Townsend and Carol Moore, both of Memphis.
Judy was a dedicated and hardworking woman with a warm heart and big personality. She returned to Memphis over thirty years ago and started a childcare business which transitioned into senior care. She and her staff have cared for many patients over the years and earned a wonderful reputation in the community.
She loved to travel and was an active participate in the Just Us Girls travel group going on numerous cruises through the years. Judy was an avid football fan and being a Texan, loved the Dallas Cowboys. She hosted many a playoff and super bowl party for family and friends.
Judy loved and appreciated her family, friends, and patients. She will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Macon Road Baptist Church, 11015 US-64, Arlington, TN 38002 in honor of Judy, or the charity of choice.
Arrangements provided by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. in Memphis. Visitation is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, and the service follows at 11:00 am. Masks are recommended for personal health and safety.
