Judith Grimes Turner's Obituary
Judith G. Turner, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Methodist Hospice in Memphis, TN. Judy was born June 19, 1939, in Phenix City, AL. She graduated from Auburn University in 1965, where she studied Education and Music. Afterward, she taught school and music for a number of years in Phenix City, AL, Columbus, GA, and Memphis, TN. Judy was an avid gardener and accomplished pianist. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Randall Grimes and her brother, Bryan Randall Grimes. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, G. Louis Turner, Jr., her mother, Dorothy Grimes, her three sons, Tripp, Brooks, and Bryan Turner, and three grandchildren, Jacob, Trace, and Lainey Turner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park (5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN). Interment will be in West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery.
