Juanita Leatrice "Libby" Goddard's Obituary
Juanita Leatrice “Libby” Goddard 95 of Collierville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025.
Born to Wood and Maurine Cardwell in Walnut Mississippi on May 26, 1929. Libby was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church. In her early years she volunteered at Methodist Hospital. She started working at Sears Crosstown at the age of 18 and retired after 47 years. Libby loved to garden. She was a wonderful cook, famous for her Christmas Coconut cake and Pecan pie.
Above all Libby loved her family and was always willing to help a friend. She will be remembered by her family and friends as loving, kind, and a mighty woman of God. Survived by Libby are her children Joy Brewer (Leon), Jan Goddard (Terry), Judy McLain (Stan), her grandchildren Christy Parks, Justin McLain (Jenna) as well as her great grandchildren Olivia and Elly Mclain.
Libby is preceded in death by her husband Ed Goddard, her parents Wood and Maurine Cardwell, her brothers Suel and Bud Cardwell, and a sister Gala Webster.
The family invites friends to gather Wednesday February 5, 2025, at 11:00am for a Service of Remembrance with a visitation prior starting at 10:30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, Tn 38119.
The family suggests any memorials be sent to Asbury United Methodist Church or the Asbury Food Pantry.
