Juanita Acree's Obituary
Juanita Younginer Acree, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, after a comfortable and loving 4 year stay at Abby Mae’s Hill Assisted Living in Spring City, Tennessee. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Acree, a Memphis native, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.A Memphis resident for 62 years, she was employed by Humko Products for many years during and after World War II and later by General Motors. Juanita spent many years of devoted service to her family, church and community. She was a member of Mullins United Methodist Church, a past president of Mullins United Methodist women’s group, and a member of the DAR. Having served as a member and past president of Methodist Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer for Methodist Lifeline, she was honored in October 1992 with the Methodist Hospital Foundation Living Award.Surviving members of her family are her niece, Kay Henninger and husband, Tom, from North Carolina, niece Donna Doran and husband, John, nephew Biff Younginer and wife, Julie, from Florida, and three great-nieces, two great-nephews.A private service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, June 21st. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to Abby Mae’s Hill Assisted Living, 419 Pin Hook Road, Spring City, TN 37381.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, 901-767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
