Reverend Pat Roseberry of Christ United Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the funeral at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Joy was born Joyce Ann Aycock in Alexandria, Louisiana to Dolly O’Neal Aycock and Frank Aycock. After attending the Alexandria Business College, she met her husband, R. Keith Weisinger, a sales representative for Burroughs Business Machines. They were married after four months of courtship in 1941, and after living in Washington, D.C., and Amarillo, Texas, Joy moved back to Alexandria to be with her family while Keith served in World War II. Reunited at the end of the War, Joy and Keith moved to Dallas where their son Ron was born in 1947. A short time later, they moved to Memphis in the Belle Meade area where they lived in the same house for 52 years. She was President of the Belle Meade Garden club several years. Family and friends were the treasures of Joy’s life. She loved to entertain and made lifelong friends with neighbors and members of her church, and was admired for her grace and southern charm. She was an avid world traveler who enjoyed Paris, Hawaii, and Asia. Joy contributed much to her community through her generosity and her faith. She served as a Charter Member of the Christ United Methodist Church and President of the United Methodist Women there. She was the President of the Mary Galloway Assisted Living Home for Women and was also the President of the Duration Club – a civic organization which provided volunteer services and financial assistance to various projects and charities. When she was not busy volunteering for her church and these charitable organizations, she could be found playing bridge or reluctantly learning to play golf with Keith at the Chickasaw Country Club, where they were members for 40 years. Later in life, she spent much of her time doting on her only grandson and great-grandson. Joy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, and survived by her son, Ronald Keith Weisinger and his wife Linda, grandson Ray Keith Weisinger and his wife Kelly and their son Roen Keith. The family of Joy Weisinger wishes to thank the Allen Morgan Health Center at Trezavant Manor and the Christ United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Christ Methodist Church 4488 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38117 to celebrate the life of Joy Weisinger.Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.Location: Garden of Memories Arrow Color: Blue
