Joyce Gaia Foster's Obituary
Joyce Foster of Lakeland, TN passed away at the age of 81 on January 8, 2024 after a long and courageous battle against lung disease. She was the youngest of ten children of Joe and Lena Gaia and the last to leave this earth. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 19 years, Bill Foster.
Joyce devoted her life to her husband, her brothers and sisters, and her nieces and nephews. To her nieces and nephews and their children, she was simply AJ, the kindest and most generous aunt anyone could ever hope for. We will miss her terribly but will be comforted by our many memories of her coming to our ball games, arriving on Christmas Eve with an abundance of perfectly wrapped Christmas presents, and the beautiful smile and soft laugh that would fill a room with joy whenever she was around. AJ, you were like a second Mom to many of us and we will carry your courage, generosity, and joyful spirit forward.
Joyce’s service will be a small, family-only service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to SRVS, a local non-profit agency supporting people with disabilities
