Joyce D. Crockett's Obituary
Joyce Crockett, age 89, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully early Tuesday
morning, December 30th.
Joyce found great happiness in cooking for those she loved, believing that food was one of the most meaningful ways to bring people together. Her kitchen was a place for comfort and laughter, surrounded by family and friends. We will always remember Joyce's favorite quote, "Best thing I ever put in my mouth."
Creativity flowed through Joyce's hands, and she had many hobbies, such as sewing, ceramics, crossword puzzles, and planning her garage sale route, all while watching "The Young and The Restless." And not to mention, her enormous collection of owls, many of which were made by her.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Crocket, whom she always called "her boyfriend!" They shared almost 69 years of marriage together, which started off as a coffee date at The University of Georgia and ended with them passing within seven months of each other in the year of 2025. Their love story will continue on in heaven.
Together Forever
Joyce is also preceded in death by her eldest son, Stewart. She leaves behind her daughter, Leigh Sloan (Don); her son, Matthew (Kim); six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Services for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 9th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:OO p.m., and the service will be at 2:00 PM
