Joseph Winfield's Obituary
Joseph Winfield, 79, passed away at his home in Byhalia, MS on January 9, 2009. Mr. Winfield was a retired meat cutter, and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Holly Springs MS. He was also a Past Master of the Collierville Masonic Lodge #152 and served as an auxiliary policeman for the City of Collierville. Mr. Winfield served as a volunteer firefighter for forty years, and fifteen with the Cayce Fire Depart., and was a 911 commissioner of Marshall County, MS. He also served a liaison for Marshall County and the American Red Cross. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Mauvlene, a son; Rick Hamm (Cathy), seven daughters and their husbands; Janie Gardner (Gene), Addie Jo Smith (Sammy), Lynn Francis (Darin), Sherry Taylor, Darlene Hawkins (Kenny), Patricia Jordan, Annette Sharp (Charlie), two brothers; John Winfield, and Frank Winfield, 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Gene Hamm.The visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, January 12th at Memorial Park Funeral Home.The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 13th at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
