Joseph Romano, 88, of Germantown, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009.He was retired after 34 years of service from Delta Airlines. He was a communicant of St. George Episcopal Church in Germantown, TN.He was a combat veteran of World War II 339th Regiment Custer Division under the command of General Mark Clark. He saw combat duty in Rome, Arno, and North Appennines. He received the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon with two Battle Stars and American Theatre Ribbon. He was a member of Polar Bear Association of WWII and a member of the American Legion.He leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Hazel, two brother-in-laws; John Miller of Seymour, TN: Tom Miller of Paso Robles, CA, a sister-in-law; Billie Jane Miller, of Memphis, four nieces; Carol Stone of Seymour, TN, Linda Miller of Paso Robles, CA, Judy Juris of San Francisco, CA, Syndi Davies of Pasadena, CA, and one nephew Tom Romano of Pasadena, CA.Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Monday, June 22, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:30. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Memorial Fund at St. George’ s Episcopal Church, Germantown, TN.
