Joseph M. Lyer's Obituary
Joseph M. Lyer, 92, passed away January 24, 2013. He was born on December 5, 1920 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a photographer and owner of Tiny Tot Studio. His favorite hobby was magic. He was a past president and the last surviving charter member of the Tennessee Photography Association. He was active in the Cotton Carnival and was a member and past King of the Sphynx Krewe. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mabel Smith Lyer; two daughters, Patti Cashion (Charles) and Pam Jordan; and three granddaughters, Carol Ann Jordan, Jessica Jordan Carlisle (Chance), and Elise Cherry. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 25 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Funeral services will be private. The family requests any memorial donations be sent to Madonna Learning Center or charity of the donor’s choice.
