Joseph Lamar Ford Jr's Obituary
Joseph Lamar Ford, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at 2:30 am, with his wife Karen by his side. Born on November 13, 1946 in Meridian, MS, Joe was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University where he played football.
A dedicated Army veteran, Joe served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Captain and leading the 199th Light Infantry Brigade with courage and distinction.
Beyond his military service, Joe was a devoted husband to Karen Ford for 55 years, a loving father to his two boys, Stephen and Kevin Ford, and a cherished grandfather to Aidan, Landon, Lawson, Logan, Ethan, Demi, Presley, Sylvie, Perri, and Chloe.
Joe had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for music and travel. He and Karen were members of Collierville First Baptist Church and loved exploring new places with friends. He also found immense joy in watching his grandchildren participate in sports, dance, and music performances.
Joe will be remembered for his faith in Jesus, integrity, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family and country. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In Lieu of flowers the family invites friends to make donations to Tunnel to Towers (T2T.org).
Services will be held Tuesday April 30, 2024, at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, Tn 38119 with a visitation preceding from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.
