After seeing Mr Ennis entertain, whether with a piano or a banjo or an umbrella, I wanted to do that “in the worst sort of way”.I’m sure he’s looking down now with a smile to see “that’s exactly what I do”.The entire Ennis family was a good example to grow up near. Many good memories are carried still in New York City.—W Wade Newbern
Wheaton will get to see my Dad. They enjoyed to get together. Wheaton was a great man and he will be missed. From Becky Newbern Graham
So sorry for your loss..Praying for you and your family… Ruth Karlin Wagner
Richard, Ken, and family…Dale and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Ennis. We did not know him personally, but my Mother, Mary Shipman worked with him at Sears. She always talked about what a wonderful man he was, and how she enjoyed knowing him. May God comfort you and yours in this time of sorrow, and give you peace in the knowledge that he is now making eternal beautiful music. Dale and Cheryl Looney (fellow Treadwellites).
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I did not know your parents but remember my mom speaking very highly of both.George Martin
I grew up living next door to Wheaton. It was a privilege to witness daily a life lived with integrity, love and humility. As daddy would say, “When God made Wheaton, He broke the mold”, meaning There is no one like him. He was indeed a very special person. To Richard, Kenny and their families I send my heart-felt sympathy.Love you both,Jeanene Blake Hughes

Uncle Wheaton led the elementary Sunday school department classes in song in the early 1960’s when I was a student in those classes. He would have been about 40 years old. With his guitar we all sang along to songs like “I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart”. The chorus went: “And I’m so happy, yes I’m so happy, I’ve got the love of Jesus in my heart”. Little did I know at the time that he was building in us kids a firm foundation in the joy of Christian living that would last us thru childhood, adolescence, young adulthood and for all of whatever length of life we are given. Wheaton was a God listener, a Christ follower, and a joyful lover of people. How lucky we all are to have lived on this earth at the same time as Wheaton Ennis who taught us all by what he said, what he sang, and the joy in life that exuded from his soul that no matter what, His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me . Charlie Dawkins, great nephew of Wheaton
To all the Ennis family, Richard/Gina, Rich, Rob, Mary, John and Ken/Gwen, Emily, Eleanor and all the extended family members of the Ennis family. May you know that my heart goes out to you all during this time of loss and home going for Mr. Ennis. I know he will be greatly missed but not for long because he will be seen again in Heaven by all his family that has gone before and those that are going to join him later when they too pass on. May you all be comforted by the memories of good times, sad times and joyous times of a 100% guaranteed reunion in Heaven. Love and prayers to you all, in Christ glorious name. Amen.
