Joseph E. Dolan's Obituary
JOSEPH EDWARD DOLAN, JR., 87, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Florence, KY. An avid golfer and fan of University of Memphis Tiger football, he retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance as an auditor.He lived in Memphis until 2008, where he was a communicant of Church of the Resurrection.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward and Thelma Dolan, his wife of 60 years, Jeane Dolan, his brother, John R. Dolan, Sr., and a sister, Martina Dolan O’Reilly. He is survived by his son, Joseph Edward Dolan, III (Judy) of Cordova, and his daughter, Martha Lou Dolan Goodwin of Florence, KY, and his sister, Margaret Dolan Stewart of Westfield, NJ. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Robert Edward Goodwin of Ft. Thomas, KY, Bryan Russell Goodwin of Independence, KY, Belinda Carol Goodwin Nitschke of Florence, KY, and James “Jamie” Edward Dolan and Eric Christopher Dolan of Cordova, TN. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Zoe Goodwin and Zane Goodwin of Ft. Thomas, KY, and Ethan Nitschke and Peyton Nitschke of Florence, KY.Visitation will be Sunday, May 3 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Poplar Chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 Sunday. The funeral service will be on Monday, May 4 at 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Park, with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
