Joseph (Joe) E. Butler Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph (Joe) E. Butler Sr., went home to Jesus on Monday March 10, 2025 at age 82.
Joe was born to Henry and Louise Butler of Memphis TN. Joe was the first of 4 children. While serving in The US Marine Corps at Camp LeJeune, he met his wife of 62 years Florence Butler.
They later moved back to Memphis where their 2 children were born, Joseph Butler Jr (Glenda), Christine Smith (Douglas). In 1972 they moved to Mississippi. Joe loved to travel and repaired all things. He owned several businesses in the community before retiring to travel the country. He and Florence lived in Nesbit, MS for the past 20 years, enjoying the small community.
He leaves his wife and 2 children along with 4 grandchildren Blake Butler, Josh Ivy (Misty), Heather Austin (Dusty), Aaron Smith (Kathryn) and 11 great grandchildren Jackson, Mattie, Eli, Mason, Tyson, Finley, Troy, Virginia, Gabriel, Braxton, Lilley.
While we grieve the passing of Joe, we find comfort in the hope of Christ resurrection and the assurance that one day we will be reunited in God’s eternal kingdom.
“For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” 1 Corinthians 13:12
