Joseph Burstyne's Obituary
Joseph Burstyne,99, passed away December 29, 2017. Joe was a World War II veteran ,travelling to England, France and Belgium with the U.S army. He retired from the U.S.Post office after 25 years . He was member of Al Chymia Shrine Temple and was a 32nd degree mason. He and his wife, Wanda, enjoyed travelling with their senior group at Central Church and their square dancing group ” Pistols and Petticoats” until she passed away in 2003. “Mr. Joe” volunteered at Baptist Rehab into his 90s and bowled with the senior league at Billy Hardwick’s until early this year. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and is survived by 2 sons, Kim (Jackie) and Bill (Ann) Burstyne; 5 grandchildren; Melanie (Brett) Berg, Joey (Katie) Burstyne, Laura (James) Corder, Nick Burstyne, and Robin Pittman; and 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah Berg, Ava, Burstyne, Ben Burstyne, and Eli Pittman. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 am Wednesday January 3 followed by funeral services at Memorial Park Funeral Home.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
