Joseph Ross Bowen, Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph Ross Bowen, 85, of Memphis, went peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on March 10, 2024.
Joe was born on December 24, 1938 in Osceola, Arkansas the son of Anna V. (Waddell) Bowen-Hudson.
Joe attended and graduated from West Memphis High School where he was a basketball player and class president. He graduated from Memphis State University, a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and served in the Air National Guard. He married Sara Lewis on November 5, 1966.
Joe was a member of Hope Church in Memphis and served as a deacon, as well as a SCRUBs team volunteer. His passions were fishing, Memphis Tiger basketball, watching sports on TV, fun trips with his family and his beloved dogs, Nixie and Savanna.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sara - daughter Joanna Bowen of Cordova, TN - son Tony Bowen of Oakland, TN – brothers Howard Bowen of Atlanta and his wife Doris; Ronald Bowen of Tulsa and his wife, Sherry.
