Joseph Allen Beegle's Obituary
Joseph Allen Beegle Sr., age 77, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Christy Beegle, son Joseph Allen Beegle Jr., daughter Tammie Renee Bell, grandchildren Randall Hayden Roth and Adelaide Jeanne Gross, brother Charles Leroy Beegle, and sister Lynn Elaine Hall.
Born to parents Melvin and June Beegle on October 7, 1946, in Memphis, TN, he graduated from Southside High School and Baptist School of Nursing. Dad was a very accomplished man. He was married to the love of his life for 54 years. He was a River Boat Captain (50 years), Registered Nurse, Air Force and Army Vietnam Veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Captain Joe had a wonderful quick-witted sense of humor, loved to pull pranks, and had a huge generous heart. He loved and rescued many animals. He loved fishing, boating, metal detecting, softball, Stevie Nicks, Anne Margaret, Tanya Tucker, teasing Aunt Sissy about her burned rolls, golf, shooting pool, woodworking, cooking steaks, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He made the best ham and potato salad this side of the Mississippi river. He was also a huge history buff. He always provided the right advice to anyone who would ask for his counsel. Dad was extremely charismatic and had a story or nickname for everyone. We all looked up to him and wanted to be around his humor and love as much as possible.
Dad was the glue of the family.
He was a hero to our family and will be missed beyond words.
