Josefina Joe's Obituary
Josefina Quinto Joe, 68, of Memphis Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Josefina was born in Manila, Philippines on January 2, 1951. She was one of seven children of Natividad Abordo Quinto and Felino Quinto. Josefina attended Jose Abad Santos High School in Pasay City and graduated with a Nursing degree at the Martinez Memorial Hospital College in Caloocan City. She migrated to the United States in 1977 when she received a contract to work as a registered nurse at The Med in Memphis, TN. She was a registered nurse for more than 30 years and was well loved by her patients. She mostly served the maternity ward until her retirement in 2011. In her retirement, she enjoyed her time tending her gardens with her husband, hanging out with her only son, playing with her adorable dogs, traveling, cooking and eating out with her family and friends, attending mass at the Church of the Nativity, volunteering her time to help the poor with her Mission work, shopping for bargains, bonding with her Yaya sisters, and playing mahjong with friends to relax.Josefina is survived by her loving husband William Joe of 37 years; one loving son Zachary; five loving siblings Linda, Basilio, Dolly, Pat, and Lilia with their spouses; her loving in-laws Jean, Dorothy, Catherine, Nancy and Hank with their spouses; her many loving nieces and nephews; and her many lifelong friends.
