Jordan Snyder's Obituary
Shane Jordan Snyder, 25, departed to be with the Lord on April 17, 2009 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Jordan was born on December 27, 1983 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Jordan had recently moved to Collierville, Tennessee and was a member of Bayleaf Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Germantown, Tennessee with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Park Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of the arrangements. Those who will miss him the most are his parents, Dr. Tommy and Joyce Snyder of Chatsworth, Georgia. One brother, Gabriel of Collierville, Tennessee and a sister, Rachel, of Lynchburg, Virginia. Grandparents, Carey and Delva Ashcraft of Clinton, Mississippi and Melita Snyder of Arlington, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman L. Snyder. Jordan was a 2008 graduate of Liberty University of Lynchburg, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting. While at Liberty, he was the chief announcer at WWMC “The Light” and was awarded the annual Distinguished Service award. He was earlier employed at Q 107.5 Radio Station in Memphis, Tennessee. He previously had a weekly radio program at the Jazz Station on the campus of the University of Memphis. He was known by his radio name of Rocky. Those who knew Jordan will remember his ever present smile, his love of radio, music, movies, and wrestling. He was always bringing laughter with his impersonations of various characters. Pallbearers are Chett Hickman, Matthew Joyce, Justin Hall, Adam Farris, Jeff Collier, and Brandon Reece. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nigerian missions through the ministry of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Germantown, Tennessee. Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday night, April 20, at Memorial Park Funeral home in Memphis.
