Jordan R. Garrison's Obituary
Jordan Ross Garrison, age 30, passed away peacefully at his home on Oak Forest Drive in Bartlett, Tennessee on January 24, 2021. Born March 2, 1990 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, he is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Frances and Hulon Newman, his grandfather, Jake Garrison, and his brother, Jason Paley. He is survived by his mother; Kathy Doreen Garrison, his father; Steven Ward Garrison, and his brother, Brandon Garrison.
To those who knew him, Jordan is remembered as a boisterous young man possessing the reckless heart of youth but also the warmth and tenacity of an old soul. He enjoyed watching sports, specifically the Memphis Tigers and the Memphis Grizzlies, was fond of fishing and camping, and found enjoyment in various styles of music. But most of all, Jordan loved his family and the companionship of his friends.
The family appreciates the concern demonstrated by Jordan’s several friends during this time of grief and would specifically like to acknowledge the care and devotion they have demonstrated in the preparation of the services observing his passing.
Jordan graduated Bolton High School as a member of the Class of 2008. After, he attended the University of Memphis, attaining a Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management. During his time at University, he actively took part in various events and activities including serving on the Student Ambassador Board as Vice President – Event Planning & Programming Coordinator. He was especially proud of the work he and others did developing and implementing the University’s Event in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Jordan was a healthy and vibrant young man whose passing shocked all who knew him. His parents take comfort in consigning his soul to our creator and his spirit to the loving arms of the friends and family who proceeded him.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home,5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119, Tuesday February 2, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment immediately following the service at Memorial Park.
