Jonatas Goncalves Lima's Obituary
Jonatas Goncalves Lima,21, was an exchange student at the University of Mississippi his dream was to become an engineer. He was from Goiania, Brazil and this past year he was diagnosed with cancer. When he became sick, the University sent him to the hospital in Oxford and then on to Jackson and ultimately to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While a patient of St. Jude, when anyone would enter his room he would yell HOTTY TODDY, you have to be an Ole Miss fan to understand this! On Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:30 a.m., Jonatas lost his battle with cancer and his last request was to buried here in the United States. Jonatas was preceded in death by his father, Joel Mendes Lima and is survived by his mother, Dalvany Goncalves Denoronna; brothers, Giovanne Goncalves Estrela and Gustavo Goncalves Estrela and sister, Joelly Goncalves Lima. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 22 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 23 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
