Johnny Blackwell's Obituary
Mr. John "Johnny" Will Blackwell age 85 of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away on September 6, 2022 in Southaven, Mississippi surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 13, 1937 in Nunnelly, Tennessee to the late Dewey and Ruth Garner Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell was a proud graduate of Messick High School Class of 1955. After High School he went on to join the United States Airforce. In 1993, he retired after a distinguished career with the U.S. Federal Aviation Agency. He was a longtime member of Highland Hundred and an avid supporter of the University of Memphis football and basketball programs. Go Tigers!
Survivors include his loving wife, Nell Blackwell; two daughters, Traci Goodman (Eric) of San Antonio, Texas and Lisa Blackwell (Andy) of Memphis, Tennessee and a brother, Ron Nichols (Philanthy) of Ocala, Florida. Other Survivors include three grandchildren, Holly Hamner (Blair), Heather Grossi (Jason) and John Trace Ruleman and five great grandchildren.
The Blackwell Family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and again on Sunday starting at 12:00pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral in the Riverside Chapel at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Blackwell.
