John J. Walker's Obituary

John J. Walker, affectionately known as “Johnny” made his grand entrance into this world accompanied by his twin sister Jane on July 8, 1949 to the late Will K and Amanda R Walker.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he attended Hyde Park Elementary and Douglass High School where he graduated in the class of 1967. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He served in the United States Army after which he was employed at the Army Depot Center until it closed. He then worded at the Agriculture Center and various other jobs until his health failed.
He departed this life and entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.
John was preceded in death by four of his brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish his memory, six sisters, Eula Bausley, Julia Boyland (Melvin) of Los Angeles California, Willeen Hastings (Larry Hastings), Jane Walker, Amanda Walker, Roslyn Barr (Arden); one brother, Ronald Walker (Ella) and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 15 from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The burial will be privately held at West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.
