John David Tutterow's Obituary
John David Tutterow, 83, of Memphis, and native of Charlotte, NC, passed away on January 1, 2009. He was born on May 24, 1925 to the late Dewitt Floyd and Lillie Lloyd Tutterow. He was also preceded in death by his brother, D.L. Tutterow, his sisters, Pauline T. Bunn and Edith T. Alexander. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bernice Leonard Tutterow; his daughters, Lauri T. Draughon (Terry) of Collierville, TN and Dawn T. Connell (Larry) of Charlotte, NC; and brother, Clinton H. Tutterow of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Tutterow leaves 7 grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Jason M. Bell, Brittany L. Bell, Morgan B. Young, Jarrod D. Draughon, Hunter W. Clark, Caitlin E. Connell, and Cathleen E. Connell. Mr. Tutterow served in the Air Force during WWII in South America. He was active in many church, civic, and philanthropic organizations. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. He served as Chairman of the Board of Consumer Credit Corp. He was a board member of The Memphis Advertising Federation, National Retail Merchants Association being “The Man of the Year”, United Way and many others. He was also “Man of the Year” for Trans Union Credit Corp. Mr. Tutterow retired as vice president, general manager of Trans Union.The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m. at Trezevant Manor (177 N.
