John Ragland's Obituary
John William Ragland, 84, of Memphis, TN, died peacefully, November 16, 2009 at Primacy Rehabilitation Center in Memphis. He served in the Air Force of the United States in World War II and in the Korean War. After his service to the United States, he attended the University of Mississippi and graduated. Mr. Ragland entered the food service industry and worked as an airline caterer for Dobbs House, Inc. In 1988, he was inducted into the famed Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs. Mr. Ragland retired in 2008 as the President of Air Host, Inc. He was dedicated to his profession and to his family.A gentleman of character deeply respected by all, he is survived by his three daughters, Tricia R. Marshall, Rebecca & her husband Lawrence McRae, and Leesa and her husband, Pat Gavin. Six grandchildren, John Edwards, Loren McRae, Jordan Marshall and Christopher, Ann, and Leesa Gavin will always remember their, wonderful grandparents, Nona and Gar-Gar.The visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, at Memorial Park Cemetery.The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Memphis Humane Society.
