John Pierotti's Obituary
John Pierotti, 78, died May 20, 2015 at Baptist Hospital surrounded by his family and caregiver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Judge Harry C. Pierotti; his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Anne Pierotti and his son, Thomas P. Pierotti (Jennifer Dunavant). He is survived by his sons John W. “Bill” Pierotti, Jr. and his wife, Ashley and Andrew Pierotti and his wife, Donna; daughter, Marianne Murray and her husband, Robert; his brother, Charles Pierotti and his wife, Myra; and nine grandchildren, Drew Pierotti, Max Murray, Stephanie Pierotti, Mary Olivia Pierotti, Madeline Pierotti, Grace Murray, Elizabeth Pierotti, Caroline Pierotti, and Margaret Pierotti. He graduated from CBHS, where he was a member of the Hall of Fame, Spring Hill College and Memphis State Law School. He was first Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After the military he went to work for the District Attorney’s office for 20 years before he was elected to the position District Attorney General for six years. After retirement he became a partner in the law firm of Glankler Brown. John had a love for thoroughbred racing and owned numerous horses. He and his wife, Barbara also enjoyed University of Memphis Athletics and for years never missed a game. His funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 South White Station Road, Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends following mass from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to give special appreciation to Dr. Cary Finn, Dr. Ray Fox and his caregiver, Deborah Allen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ALS Association www.alsa.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
