John "Larry" Rodgers' Obituary
John Lawrence “Larry” Rodgers, III, 79, passed away on March 7, 2016. He was born on December 18, 1936 in Memphis, TN. Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Rodgers, Jr. and Catherine Robertson Delchamps.He was a graduate of Memphis Technical School. He was a First Class Airman in the United States Air Force.Mr. Rodgers, is survived by two sons, Larry Michael Rodgers of San Diego, CA and Robert Douglas Rodgers of Portland, OR, three brothers, Robert Rodgers of Biloxi, MS, Jimmy Rodgers, (Pat) of Bartlett, Milton Rodgers of Bartlett, TN, one sister, Ann Reed (Larry) of Bartlett, TN; and many nieces and nephews.He was an avid roller skater and walker. Mr. Rodgers worked as a printer for Wimmer Brothers Printing for over 25 years. He was currently working at Fed Ex as a Hazmat Agent. Mr. Rodgers was employed at Fed Ex for over 20 years.He loved to cook and owned a catering business for many years. He was also the owner of Lewis Bar-B-Que Restaurant with his son Robert.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m., until the service time at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 14, at Memorial Park Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
