John T. Kernodle's Obituary
John T Kernodle 92 of Memphis, died peacefully at Methodist Hospice on March 24th, 2015. He married Mary Jane Walker of Bethel Springs, TN and together raised four children in Memphis. John T served his country during WWII as a member of the 303rd Bomb Group. He later became a master printer and worked until retirement. John T enjoyed helping his family and neighbors with all types of repair projects and was a fan of local basketball up until his recent illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, daughter Suzy Prestigiacomo, his brother, James Kernodle and his sister Nina Rodgers. He is survived by sons, Mike Kernodle (Benida) and Brent Kernodle as well as a daughter, Martha Brogdon (David) and son-in-law Tom Prestigiacomo. He also leaves 4 grandchildren, 5 great- grand children and one great great- grandchild. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm until the graveside service time at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
