John Thomas Kent Jr.'s Obituary
John Thomas Kent, Jr., age 60, passed away on December 19, 2025.
John was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1965. He graduated from Harding Academy in 1983 and later earned a degree in business administration from the University of Memphis. In 1997, he married Barbara Kent, and in 2000 they made their home in Texas.
John was a dedicated employee who truly loved his work. Throughout his career, he worked for several companies including FedEx, Hilton, Telvista, Verizon, and Synchrony.
John had a deep love for cars, learning, technology, games, music, travel, and his family. He was a foodie who enjoyed exploring new places and discovering new experiences. He was best known for his easy-going personality and infectious laugh and smile. He was a devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather who always showed up for the people he loved, no matter the circumstances. He loved deeply, and that love will carry on through his family forever.
John is preceded in passing by his father, John Thomas Kent, Sr., and his grandparents, Dorothy F. Kent, John Frank Kent, and Lorraine Davis Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kent; his mother, Lynda Kent Thompson; his children, Kaden Kent, Whitney White, and Gavin White; and his grandchild, Amara Sanders.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at 1:00 p.m., with graveside services beginning at 2:00 p.m.
