John "Jack" Melvin Brower's Obituary
Mr. John "Jack" Melvin Brower, age 93 of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away on June 25, 2022, in his home.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was honored to serve his country for 20 years in the United States Navy and in the Korean war. He loved his church, tinkering with computers, and was known to never miss a tee time on the golf course. After retiring from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, he worked for Simplex/Grinnel until retirement. He was a member of Ellendale United Methodist Church where he previously served as treasurer and a member of the choir. Jack and his late wife, Louise, were happily married for 50 years. He spent 12 years alongside his loving companion, Opal Simpson. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Jack was born on February 7, 1929, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to the late Henry S. and Ray Nixon Brower.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Nettie Louise Brower, and sister, Nancy True.
He is survived by his son, John Brower (Deena) of Bartlett, Tennessee; grandson, Zach Brower; granddaughter, McKenzie McArthur (Peyton); and Opal Simpson and her family.
